Christies Beach House
The existing Norfolk Island pine tree stands as a landmark feature in the district, providing a natural anchor for the property. With the house positioned close to the beach, it feels as if the tree guides you from the shoreline, across the sand dunes, and up to the house. The deep verandas and a circular water tank at the back pay homage to the classic Australian farmhouse - a space that feels 75% beach, 25% rural.
Exterior Lighting

In designing the exterior, materials were intentionally streamlined to reduce visual clutter and enhance views from inside. Instead of typical timber floors and plaster ceilings, the downstairs ceilings are crafted from limed, v-jointed pine, creating a seamless transition as the timber continues out to the verandas. These verandas are gently illuminated with in-ground Deck up lights and paired with the minimalist Two-Way wall lights in a weathered dark bronze finish, blending perfectly with the natural surroundings.
Ceiling Lighting

Inside, the design maintains a similar approach, using minimal materials to create clean, uninterrupted sightlines. The upstairs ceilings feature the same limed v-jointed pine boards and exposed timber beams as downstairs, giving the space a cohesive and airy feel. Carefully selected Studio LED downlights and black Pan surface-mounted ceiling lights are purposefully positioned to enhance the ambience without obstructing the waterfront views.
